Graffiti Art Programming

In August of 2008, renowned muralists Tim & Connie Friesen travelled to Winnipeg with the generous
assistance of the Manitoba Arts Council, the conduct a mural workshop with the youth and residents of
Norquay (North Point Douglas). The mural consists of 10 4'x8' panels and is being mounted on the side of
Norquay School. It depicts the history of the neighborhood in bright, vibrant colors and will be a welcome
addition to a neighborhood working to revitalize itself and bring pride to the residents for their participation
in its creation. The mural was a successful collaboration of all parties and displays the historical and
cultural richness of the neighborhood - now undergoing a strong transition to a healthy, prosperous
community. Beautifying this community is an important and significant step in this process.
