young leaders project

The Young Leaders Project, facilitated through Studio 393, GAP’s downtown site, serves teens and young adults who frequent the downtown area, in search of community, support, and resources. The goal of Studio 393's programming is to create young community leaders through urban arts, volunteer job opportunities, and by supporting the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ revitalization efforts.

The Young Leaders Project employs and mentors at-risk youth at-risk youth to become leaders in Winnipeg’s Downtown community.

This initiative also provides youth with access to community focused urban art programming that facilitates creative self-exploration, expression, and networking opportunities in the Downtown vicinity. In providing combinations of urban art and traditional cultural art with the professional mentorship of artists and studio managers, the Young Leaders Project will provide engaging opportunities for learning, individual growth, problem solving, the creation of positive identities amongst youth, and to strengthen their connection to their Downtown Community.
