Northern Manitoba’s talented young artists to exhibit in Winnipeg

Graffiti Gallery will host annual Frontier School Division juried art shoW

Graffiti Gallery, 109 Higgins Avenue, Winnipeg Manitoba. Frontier School Division Art Show.

Graffiti Art Programming is pleased to announce that Graffiti Gallery will again be hosting works from the annual Frontier School Division Juried Art Show, from February 22nd to April 13th, 2017. Graffiti Gallery will also be offering a NEW sculptural art workshop for tour groups during the Frontier Art Show.

The Frontier School Division Juried Art Show features a selection of artwork by students from Manitoba’s northern schools. Last year’s exhibit at Graffiti Gallery featured works by 44 students from Manitoba’s northern communities. Graffiti Gallery is proud to continue supporting the Frontier School Division in their efforts to encourage youth to communicate through creative self-expression and to develop a dialogue between students and their community.

New Visual Workshop

This year, Graffiti Gallery will also be offering a new, collaborative visual art workshop for tour groups during the Frontier School Division Show. The art workshop will engage youth in creating a large-scale collaborative piece informed by landscapes found throughout Manitoba. Participants will have the opportunity to contribute to a sculptural installation combining painting, printmaking and collage, which will be on display alongside the Frontier students’ artwork.

Groups can choose between two time slots: 10:00am to 11:30am and/or 1:00pm to 2:30pm. Workshops are 1 hour long and groups will receive a 30-minute tour of the exhibit space prior to the workshop. Please note the maximum number of participants per workshop is 30 people.
