Graffiti Gallery offers a variety of workshops to organizations, schools and other groups, in conjunction with our exhibitions.  These include a mixed media workshop and a hip hop dance workshop taught by local artists.  Workshops are offered at the gallery or at a location of your choosing, and are an hour and a half long, with options of 10:00 am - 11:30 am or 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm.  Workshops include a tour of the gallery and our current exhibit.  If you have a different time in mind, or an idea for a workshop, please inquire and we will try and accommodate. GST will be added to all workshop costs.

In conjunction with the Wane One exhibition, youth are invited to immerse themselves in an underground, urban subway station, a place where graffiti art culture was conceptualized, and explore their own individuality by creating a unique tag, or stylized symbol. These symbols will be created with colourful paint markers on translucent vellum paper, and then will be installed and backlit using giant light boxes, imitating subway station advertisements. These graffiti-decorated light boxes will be shown in the William Feldman Memorial Gallery (Graffiti Gallery’s ‘Kids Gallery’) alongside, and for the duration of, Wane’s exhibition.

“Graffiti as we know it now, or street art, literally happened because of New York City, because of the subway train. It communicated with people in different neighborhoods without them leaving their neighborhood.” -Wane One
