WET PAINT

Wet Paint is a traveling art show that captures the palpable tension between the MTA and graffiti writers in New York City. When the authorities clean up subway station graffiti by painting over it, they routinely hang a “Wet Paint '' sign. Persue pulled down hundreds of these signs and sent them to artists around the world. Each artist made their sign uniquely beautiful. Since its conception as a simple website release, it has been embraced by artists and collectors alike, as a fresh approach to a well-loved genre. WET PAINT is co-curated by PERSUE and WANE 1, as they work together to realize their vision for WET PAINT as a brand and movement. WET PAINT Winnipeg is also featuring Canadian Graffiti pioneer VIRUS from Vancouver, BC. WET PAINT has brought their collection experiences to their collectors all over the world, including New York City, Tokyo, Philadelphia, Shanghai, Miami and Atlanta, with Winnipeg being their first Canadian stop.
