  • WET PAINT WORKSHOP

Immerse yourself in the world of graffiti art, exploring different illustrative techniques. Participants are invited to let their personality show and flow through their own signature graffiti lettering or make their mark with an imaginative mascot as they decorate a take-home ‘GRAFFITI GALLERY’ sign - based off of our past WET PAINT exhibition and movement.

Inspired by signs that artists from around the world have transformed, participants will be introduced to the endless possibilities of creative expression within the artform of graffiti & street art.

  • GRAFFITI GRID WORKSHOP

In conjunction with Graffiti Galley’s current exhibition The Best Of Times Are Now, learn how to develop your own memorable artwork guided by the techniques of Graffiti writers. Participants will practice drawing their name, alias, alter-ego or a word of significance in graffiti style lettering and take their small sketch to new heights by scaling their artwork using grid-work. After their piece is complete, participants will be prompted to explore curious settings around the gallery and get to document their work in the space. These momentary displays of artwork created during the workshop will live on in our gallery’s growing archive of participant graffiti work.

When you visit the gallery you’ll have an opportunity to view the pieces that preceded you. Just like back in the day when graffiti artists gathered source material in real time, photographing artworks and artists they came across for later reflection and inspiration—many of the pieces no longer exist in the spaces they were once displayed.

Enjoy these online video tutorials and try your hand at making some art or learning some new dance moves from the comfort of your own home!
